Variations in quality, quantity and composition of solid waste can be linked to various factors such as cultural, economic, social and financial status of inhabitants of the particular space being studied. These distinct factors will also determine the best waste management practice to adopt. Solid waste generation is expected to rise to 2.2 billion tons by 2025. The aim of this study was to assess the solid waste management practice in selected higher education institutions. The objectives conducted in this study is to assess the level of students' awareness on solid waste management; to identify their respective practices on solid waste management; to assess of the students and their practices on solid waste management.
