TME Performance Table Tennis Years 10–11 | Ages 14–16 | KS4
TME Performance Table Tennis is a complete seven-lesson Scheme of Learning for Years 10–11 Core PE. It progresses from controlled, technically secure play into tactical competition, opponent analysis, doubles partnership and independent match management.
The programme begins with grip, control and rules before developing forehand and backhand push techniques. Pupils then learn legal serving, basic spin and third-ball intention, followed by forehand and backhand drives. Later lessons introduce doubles rules, movement and communication before pupils participate in team matches, apply tactics, officiate and profile opponents. A final tournament and performance review allow pupils to demonstrate and evaluate their progress.
The 16-page resource includes two curriculum and assessment pages, seven detailed one-page lesson plans and seven matching lesson infographics. The introductory pages establish the learning journey, curriculum context, Know and Show outcomes, vocabulary, safety, inclusion and Head–Heart–Hands assessment.
Every lesson contains:
- Head, Heart and Hands objectives
- Timed Warm-up, Explore, Develop, Apply and Plenary activities
- Detailed table organisation, rotations, feeding and equipment guidance
- Clear cues for grip, stance, bat angle, contact and recovery
- Conditioned games linking technique with tactical intention
- STEP differentiation for rally distance, cooperation, targets and pressure
