TME Performance Cricket is a complete seven-lesson Scheme of Learning designed for Years 10–11 Core PE. It develops refined striking and fielding skills alongside tactical understanding, decision-making, leadership and responsible match management.

The programme begins with catching, ground fielding and accurate returns before developing a legal bowling action with improved line and length. Pupils then refine straight-bat technique and purposeful shot placement, explore running between the wickets and pairs-cricket tactics, and learn how to adjust field settings. Later lessons incorporate scoring, umpiring, tactical match play and assessment before concluding with innings strategy, match management and an individual performance profile.

The 16-page resource contains two detailed curriculum and assessment pages, seven one-page lesson plans and seven matching lesson infographics. The opening material establishes the curriculum purpose, progression, Know and Show outcomes, vocabulary, safety, inclusion and Head–Heart–Hands assessment expectations.

Every lesson includes:

  • Head, Heart and Hands objectives
  • Timed Warm-up, Explore, Develop, Apply and Plenary sections
  • Clear pitch, striking-zone and fielding organisation
  • Detailed technical cues for batting, bowling, catching and returning
  • Tactical questions about scoring opportunities, dismissal risk and field placement
  • STEP differentiation for space, task, equipment and people
  • Explicit ball-striking, waiting-zone and retrieval safety
  • AfL linked to measurable and observable evidence
  • SEND and EAL adaptations with meaningful scorer, coach, analyst and umpire roles
  • Plan–Monitor–Reflect prompts and structured performance discussions

The scheme supports enjoyable, inclusive cricket while helping pupils take increasing ownership of tactical and organisational decisions.
