PREVALENCE AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS COMPLIANCE TO ANTI-KOCHS TREATMENT PROGRAMMES AMONG DIAGNOSED PATIENTS IN OVIA NORTH EAST LGA OF EDO STATE
More than 1.5 million TB cases occur in sub-Saharan Africa every year. Lack of compliance to TB treatment has contributed to the steady rise of TB incidence in Nigeria. The aim of this study is to determine knowledge, attitude and compliance with TB treatment by PTB patients attending chest clinic at a tertiary hospital in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The study employed a descriptive cross-sectional design.The specific objectives are to assess the attitudes of diagnosed patients towards anti-Kochs treatment programmes among diagnosed patients; to discuss the factors influencing the anti-Koch treatment compliance among diagnosed patients; to examine the relationship between attitudes towards treatment and compliance among diagnosed patients.
