Are You Proud
This is a heavy one, but it was a song that absolutely had to be written. I wanted to create a searing indictment of the monsters who prey on the most vulnerable among us—people who use empty promises of a better life or a sense of belonging just to inflict unspeakable harm.
Instead of just telling a story, I decided to write the lyrics as a series of gut-wrenching questions aimed directly at the perpetrators. I wanted to get right in their faces and challenge them—asking how they can possibly feel any sense of pride or think about their own legacy when they’ve spent their lives destroying others. It’s a harrowing tribute to the victims, and I hope it serves as a powerful reminder that this darkness is something we can never just look away from.
