Tatewaku Sashiko Pattern PDF — Rising Steam Embroidery Template
A printable, true-scale PDF template for the Tatewaku "rising steam" design, with clear, step-by-step instructions so you go from print to stitched piece without guesswork.
Tatewaku pictures vapor rising in vertical columns of doubled, wavy lines; it's one of the more solidly documented patterns in the shop, recorded as a yūsoku monyō, a design once codified for Heian-period court nobility.
Shown here in a soft indigo ombre, light at the edges deepening to rich indigo at center, but any high-contrast palette or even a single color flows just as well on a long panel or runner.
