Lesson 84 - The Bush That Never Burned Up
For forty years, Moses has been quietly tending the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. One
ordinary workday, Moses leads the sheep to the far side of the wilderness and comes to Horeb (Mount Sinai),
the mountain of God! Suddenly, the Angel of the Lord appears to him in a flame of fire out of the middle of a
thorny desert bush. Moses looks closely: the bush is blazing with fire, yet the green branches do not burn up
into black ashes! Moses says, "I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned." Today we
explore the miracle of the unconsumed bush, the chemistry of fire, desert botany, and the discipline of stopping
to pay attention!
