Los Angeles is a three color wrap with an evolving lace pattern that gets more complicated as you progress through the wrap. There are both written and charted instructions. It is named after the song by the Counting Crows, which is one of my favorites, and reminds me of my sister. It is also inspired by the history of Los Angeles as a city, growing from a simple town into a mecca for Hollywood entertainers, and by the Art Deco trend of the 20s and 30s. It’s loose gauge makes it flowy and airy, but will still keep your shoulders warm at those late night galas.
Three 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn, in either a fade, or complimentary colors. You could
also use just one color, it’s up to you! I used Loved Ones Yarn Fingering Weight, 75% Merino
25% nylon in Love on the Rocks, Foolish Heart, and True.
18 stitches and 25 rows in Section one is equal to 4” after blocking. This lace will grow quite a
bit with blocking. Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect yardage used and finished
size.
The wrap will measure approximately 21” wide by 87” long after blocking.
