Released in the UK on 3rd December 1965, Rubber Soul was The Beatles sixth album and was recorded quickly over four weeks in October/November of 1965 to meet the Christmas market demand of that year.
The album's title was inspired after an American described the singing style of Mick Jagger (of The Rolling Stones) as “plastic soul”, to which Paul McCartney changed to “Rubber Soul” as his liking for the ‘soul’ genre of music.
The track ‘Norwegian Wood’ was the first song to feature a sitar (an Indian musical instrument) on popular music.
The US version removed a number of tracks in order to give the whole album a more folk-orientated sound.
This poster depicts the album cover, the date released and the UK track listings.
Will look fantastic if framed, especially if printed at UK A3 / USA Tabloid or Ledger (but will resize to any).
