My latest piece, featuring one of the stately guards at the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. The palace itself is massive, beautifully constructed, exquisitely painted and requires at least half a day to enjoy in its entirety. Gyeongbokgung is always crowded during the Chuseok holiday, but I wanted the viewer of this painting to feel as if they were the first one allowed to access this regal place.

Number 6 of my series “2 Countries, 200 Paintings.”

Carefully packaged for international shipping: the painting is covered with a sheet of glassine paper, then placed in a plastic sleeve and rigid plastic top-loader, then placed between layers of cardboard for extra reinforcement, sealed in a waterproof zip-type plastic bag, and finally slipped into a waterproof bubble mailer for ultimate weather protection.

Because this painting is unvarnished, please keep it behind plastic or glass to protect it from water and moisture damage. ACEOs and postcards are wonderfully versatile and can be displayed in a custom frame, on a tiny-art stand or miniature easel, held in place with magnets, displayed in a top-loader, or stored in a special collector’s card binder or photo album.

A unique conversation piece for lovers of Korean history, travel and culture, Asian art and traditional K-drama.
