Toridasuki Sashiko Pattern PDF | Stick and Stitch, Visible Mending | Crossed Cord Lattice | Water Soluble Printable | Instant Download
✦ Toridasuki (Crossed Cord Lattice): Japanese Sashiko Pattern ✦
A printable, true-scale PDF for two crossing families of wavy running-stitch lines, meeting at every crossing point.
Tori-dasuki traces to Nara-period court textiles: long-tailed birds, once holding a ceremonial ribbon, linked in a crossing lattice on ceremonial Heian silk. Tasuki names the diagonal crisscross itself, the same word used for the everyday sash tied back to free the sleeves for work, borrowed here for the geometry, not a cord the birds are shown wearing. This version keeps the lattice, worked in two crossing passes.
