RAMS-09 Drylining, Partitions and Ceilings - Risk Assessment and Method Statement, Worked Example (Word, UK, 2026)
A complete, paired risk assessment and method statement for Drylining, Partitions and Ceilings, written as a full worked example on a real-looking UK project, the way a principal contractor's reviewer expects to receive it.
Not a blank form. Every hazard row and every step of the sequence is filled in for a named task, with plant, quantities, named roles and the hold points a reviewer looks for. You edit the specifics for your job; the structure, the control hierarchy and the standards table are already right.
Risk assessment (RAMS-09-RA): 10 hazards, each with who is at risk and how, existing controls, likelihood and severity on a 5 × 5 matrix before and after additional controls, the hierarchy of control from MHSWR Schedule 1, PPE beyond site minimum, emergency arrangements and a review record. Hazards covered include:
- Dust - plasterboard, jointing compound sanding (inhalable / respirable 'not otherwise specified' dust at 10 / 4 mg/m3, EH40 para 43-46 substantial concentration), cement-particle board cutting (RCS 0.1 mg/m3)
- Falls - podiums, towers, ceiling work at 2.7 m and deck fixings at 3.6 m, stepping off onto the board trolley
- Manual handling - boards 23-29 kg at 2400 x 1200 mm, awkward and repetitive; ceiling boards overhead
- Isocyanate foam sealant and CP board adhesive - respiratory sensitiser (isocyanates WEL 0.02 mg/m3 8-h / 0.07 mg/m3 STEL as -NCO), skin
- Screw guns and chop saw - noise 95 dB(A), vibration, blade contact
- Electrical - 110 V tools, drilling into the deck near Caldbeck's containment and cables in the void
And 4 more.
Method statement (RAMS-09-MS): scope, persons and competence, 6 items of plant with their inspection requirements, materials and hazardous substances, permits and hold points (4), a 13-step sequence of work with hazards, controls and the check or ITP line for each step, emergency arrangements specific to the task, supervision and stop-work triggers, and the briefing and sign-on record.
