Treasure for every teacher

This timely and contemporary book of teachers’ success stories features more than twenty autobiographies on teacher experiences that were born from the trials of failure and frustration. Each story is filled with gems from a vast array of modern classrooms, including one-on-one lessons, public and private classes, English for academic purposes, and most of all, in EFL settings, where the motivation to learn is often strained. The book presents inspiring solutions to problems we all have experience in teaching but does it in a way that is not focused on technical or pedagogical aspects of teaching. While every story may not appeal to every reader, each story has something that should relate to every teacher, particularly those who wish to have their students learn beyond their books, beyond mere content knowledge, and explore English in a “mistake-rich” environment, where teachers have provided pathways and doorways for students to experience autonomous and independent learning. Of all the books I would recommend for my teachers who are not fans of research-based pedagogy, this is a treasure.
