How?

Do you ask for what you want and then talk about whether that lined up?

Do you avoid it altogether?

Do you go through a feedback loop?

Do you talk about expectations at all, before, during, after?

Sometimes couples don’t make decisions as partners because they are not aligned. Maybe part of them wants to just be companions or not do the hard work or maybe there is confusion or it is early in the relationship.

If you do want to make decisions and you want to use the definition, “partner” for your relationship, I would advise you to talk it through and see if this applies to you.
