Kitson Commission and Quota Lab: Check Every Rep's Statement, Both Readings Side by Side (Opus 5.5)

One loose sentence in a commission plan. Two fair readings. Found out on payday.

Kitson Commission and Quota Lab turns your commission plan, written in plain English, into rules you can check, then works out every rep's statement from your own closed deals, on your computer. It gives you:

• The rules Claude Opus 5.5 read from your plan, each one next to the words of your plan it came from. Anything your plan leaves unclear becomes a question for you, never a guess.
• When your plan does not say how a higher tier applies (to all the month's sales, or only to the sales above the threshold), both readings side by side. In the made-up sample, one sentence is worth $2,140 to the team in a month.
• Every rep's statement worked out in code: tiers, accelerators, caps, shared deals, short bonuses (SPIFs), refunds and clawbacks inside your plan's window, draws, and part quotas for reps who join or leave part-way through a period.
• The cliffs: where one more sale re-prices a rep's whole month, and which reps sit just under a step.
• What the plan could cost in a month, as a range from your own past months, with a warning when there are only a few months to go on.
• Then Claude explains each statement in plain words for your reps, and the app checks every number in its words.

What makes it careful

• It never pays anyone, sends a statement or decides anyone's pay. It is a calculation for review: your signed plan governs. You check each statement and hand it out yourself.
• It never adds a plan term your plan does not state, and it never picks a reading for you.
• Your deals and reps files stay on your computer. Claude sees the plan with rep names replaced by codes (Rep 1, Rep 2), the product names and a few facts about the file, then each rep's figures by code for the explanations. Rep names, customers, deal IDs and the deals themselves are never sent, and nothing is sent to Kitson Workshop. You can see exactly what will be sent before you run it.
• The cost is shown before every run. In our own test on the made-up sample (a five-rep team, 112 deals over six months), a month of statements, both steps, cost about 20 cents on our own Anthropic account. A bigger team costs a little more for the explanations.
• Take it with you: a Word statement for each rep (and all of them in one file), the payouts as a CSV for your payroll tool, every table in Excel, and the plan summary in Word.

What you need

• Free Node.js 18+ (Windows, Mac or Linux).
• Your commission plan in plain English, your closed deals as a CSV (from your CRM or a spreadsheet) and, if you have it, a reps file with quotas and start dates. A made-up sample is in the zip so you can try it first.
• It needs your own Anthropic API key, with a little credit. A Claude chat subscription does not include API access.

You pay Anthropic directly for what you use, on top of the price of the app.
