Seigaiha Sashiko Pattern PDF — Blue Ocean Waves Embroidery Template
✦ Seigaiha (Blue Ocean Waves): Traditional Japanese Sashiko Pattern ✦
A printable, true-scale PDF template for the Seigaiha design, with clear, step-by-step, color-coded instructions so you go from print to stitched piece without guesswork.
Overlapping fan-shaped scales echoing the ocean's endless waves, a symbol of good luck, peace, and resilience. Stitched in three colors for soft, layered depth (use any three you love).
WHAT YOU GET (instant download):
• Cover with difficulty + motif overview
• Full-page stitching template at true 1:1 scale
• Step-by-step marking, stitching & finishing guide (color-coded stitch path)
• Clean transfer template for water-soluble stabilizer
• A little thank-you & sharing page
• US Letter AND A4 versions, reusable, print as often as you like
DETAILS:
• Skill level: Intermediate, layered arcs in one to three colors, a satisfying one to grow into
• Time: approx. 4-6 hrs for a 10x10 in piece
• Thread: approx. 20 m total across three colors (buy a little extra for thread carried across the back)
• You'll need: cotton or linen, sashiko thread (three blues from light to deep here, or any colors you love, one works too), and a water- or heat-erasable fabric marker
HOW IT WORKS:
• Print at 100% and check the 1-inch square
• On light fabric, trace at a bright window or lightbox; on dark fabric, use water-soluble stabilizer
• Stitch by layer, not scale by scale: all the outer arcs first, then middle, then inner, carrying the thread on the back between scales, landing an even stitch on each low point
