***** This is a PDF pattern, not a finished product*****

Whether you want a fun quilted patchwork tote or smart canvas tote, this pattern has it all plus it comes in three different sizes! It's fully lined and has two zip pockets to keep all your important things safe.

Skill level: Confident beginner +
My patterns are very in depth and comprehensive and this one is no exception. None of the processes are particularly difficult and all are explained in detail. If you've never inserted a zip before, my pattern includes a lot of photo's and tricks to make this a much easier process. If you are a confident beginner, have a little experience of following patterns and are happy on a sewing machine, I think you could give this one a go!

Finished size (approximately):
Small: 10'' W x 11'' H x 4'' D
Medium: 12'' W x 12 ½'' H x 4 ½'' D
Large: 14'' W x 14'' H x 5'' D

You will receive, 14 pages of step by step instructions with helpful tips, diagrams and over 50 photos to illustrate the steps and techniques used. You will also find 3 pages of patchwork ideas and inspiration. This is a measure and cut pattern so NO templates are needed or provided.

You will need:

Quilting cotton
A variety of scraps of cotton fabric if you're making a patchwork tote. Quilting cotton will also be used for the lining, pocket linings too and as your main exterior pieces for the plain quilted tote.

Plain cotton
This will be your backing fabric for the quilt sandwiches if you're making a quilted tote.

Canvas
Use a printed canvas fabric if you are making the non-quilted canvas tote.

Essex linen
Use Essex linen for the contrasting fabrics (base, handles and lining top). You could also use denim, canvas or something else of a similar weight.

Cotton wadding
This is to pad your exterior fabrics if you are making a quilted tote. Fusible fleece could also be used if you prefer.

Interfacing
You will need a medium-weight fusible interfacing for the main lining pieces and pocket linings. If you are making a canvas tote, I would use a woven fusible interfacing to back your canvas.

Closed ended zips: Small tote: 6'', Medium tote: 8'', Large tote: 10'' plus an 8'' zips for the interior pocket (all tote sizes). You can use longer nylon zips and trim them down if you prefer.
Magnetic handbag fastener (optional): For the main closure use a ½'' – ¾'' magnetic fastener.

Equipment and tools:
Rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler, scissors, thread, iron, Wonder clips/binding clips, pins, trick marker/disappearing fabric pen, seam ripper (just in case), basting spray, zipper foot, walking foot (optional), temporary fabric glue pen (I use a Sewline glue pen, optional).
