The Frosted is an asymmetrical, curvy shawl worked in simple stitch patterns. It is knitted on the bias, starting at the tip of the shawl with a few cast on stitches and finishing with spaced picots along the bind-off edge on the opposite side. The shaping is done with simultaneous increases along one side and partial bind offs on the opposite side of the fabric, gradually increasing the total number of stitches as you progress. The curved, almost swirling shape is a natural result of the tension of the different stitch patterns.

The shawl can be knit in two different yarn weights. In the samples, the garter stitch stripes are knitted with thicker yarn and the lace stitch stripes are knitted with finer yarn. The outer edge of the shawl can be finished with either picots or fringe.

Another unique feature of this design is the selvedge stitches, which are worked in a special way to create a smooth and neat-looking edge, eliminating the need to cut or carry the unused strands of yarn along the edge.
