Duncan — detecting dragon and omelet aficionado — has survived thuggish goblin mayors, high-strung veelas, and most recently, an unfortunate incident involving a bucket of glue. But nothing could have prepared him for the horror he's currently facing: a diet.

To distract himself from his growling stomach, Duncan decides to tackle the three-year-old mystery behind the death of a centaur racer at the local racetrack.

As he sorts through clues, questions suspects, and consults with a locked-up lady detective, the death begins looking far less natural and much more murder-y. Especially as everyone from the track's poison-tailed manager to a debt-ridden troll to a suspiciously vague pixie seems to have a reason to want the truth to stay buried.

But cold cases aren't the only thing keeping Duncan occupied as he waits for Opening Day. He's also…

  • handling the meltdowns of a nerve-wracked brownie,
  • trying to undo everything Cordelia has supposedly repaired,
  • watching Fergus limp through his attempts to win an upcoming race,
  • cursing the numbers on the scale, and
  • wondering if he'll ever be allowed another box of Viola's pixie pepper cookies.

Some dragons chase treasure. This one just wants to solve the case, save a newfound friend, and, if he's lucky, sneak in a decent breakfast.

Dragon Your Feet is the seventh book in the Circus of Unusual Creatures series. The books can be enjoyed in order or can be read as standalone stories.
