This fully comprehensive download takes you step by step through all the stages of building a model of the steam coaster Gorsefield, of 1922 at a scale of 16 feet to one inch (1/192).
The length of the model is 11 inches, and it is made from balsa wood and simple materials.    No really expensive tools are required.
This download was written especially for those ship model builders who have grown weary of building large expensive kits of well-known vessels, and wish to move onto something more stimulating.
The entire build uses special techniques that greatly simplify the process.   One of which is rigging with wire - a far easier method than fiddling about with thread or twine, tying dozens of tiny knots.
The wire rigging is glued on in short lengths, and no knots are used anywhere.
Although scratch-building of model ships has virtually died out, in favour of kits, I hope that this download demonstrates that there is indeed  "life beyond the box!"

As well as the Gorsefield constructional details, I have also included plans of a similar, but slightly simpler steam collier, the SS Bannprince, of  1933.
