MERCHANT SHIP PLAN LOCATION INDEX
This 42-page index is just a reference document, and it does not contain any plans!
I am not a plans service, and am unable to supply any of the plans listed.
It took me over two years to compile this document, and some of the column alignments are a bit "wonky" owing to the fact that I had to convert from old word processing programmes, but it is easy enough to follow. I complied it for myself, but decided to make it available because of a number of requests about where to obtain plans of Merchant Ships. (It does not contain references to Naval vessels).
Basically, it indexes a lot of the old technical journals from the early 20th century until the mid 1960s. I have included functional links to various establishments where the volumes may be viewed, borrowed, or in some cases purchased (Ebay etc).
I have also included a list of books that contain lots of ship plans both sail and steam, and which are readily available even today. Plus a link to a book search site.
