Masterclasses

Masterclasses are focused, interactive sessions built around a particular English skill or component. Rather than covering several areas at once, each session takes the time to look closely at one area, helping students understand how it works, practise it and become more confident applying it on their own.

Masterclasses are especially useful when a child needs a little more time with a particular area, or when they want to strengthen an existing skill.

What to expect

• A 2-hour focused session
• One English component or skill
• Guided teaching and practice
• Opportunities to participate and respond throughout the session
• Chat-based interaction, with cameras and microphones kept off
• A worksheet or learning resource
• A recording after the session, where stated

The aim is not simply to complete more questions. It is to understand the skill well enough to use it beyond the session.

Workshops

Workshops offer a different kind of learning experience. They are more activity-based and may include discussion and application activities.

Workshops give children opportunities to engage with English in ways that may not fit neatly into a weekly lesson or a focused Masterclass.
