The final weeks of pregnancy bring noticeable physical changes as the body gets ready for delivery. These signs indicate that the latent phase of labor is approaching or has begun.
5 Signs You Are Preparing for Labor:
- The Baby Drops (Lightening): The baby settles lower into the pelvis, relieving rib pressure and making breathing easier.
- Cervical Changes: The cervix thins out (effacement) and opens up (dilation), which a healthcare provider detects during a pelvic exam.
- Loss of the Mucus Plug: The thick mucus seal at the cervix dislodges, appearing as clear, pink, or slightly bloody discharge.
- Frequent, Stronger Braxton Hicks: Practice contractions become more regular, intense, and closer together, though they still stop with rest or movement.
- The "Nesting" Instinct: A sudden burst of energy drives an urge to clean, organize, and prepare the home for the baby.
A special note: God loves you and will never let you down. I encourage you to put Him first. Keep your mind stayed on Him and cast your cares on Him, because He cares for you.1 Peter 5:7. John 3:16.
