Beyond the Wheel Workshops

The Beyond the Wheel Workshops offers reflective resources grounded in lived experience, real-world practice, and thoughtful inquiry.

Each workshop supports awareness, accountability, and person-centred thinking across disability, community, professional, and everyday contexts. Rather than offering instructions or checklists, Beyond the Wheel invites participants to slow down, notice patterns, and reflect on how influence, support, and decision-making shape outcomes over time.

The workshop modules are paired with reflection worksheets, allowing Beyond the Wheel participants to explore the ideas at their own pace and apply them in ways that feel relevant and sustainable. These resources are suitable for individuals, professionals, teams, and organisations seeking meaningful learning.

Beyond the Wheel creates space to examine how capability is amplified or constrained, how assumptions shape experience, and how dignity, choice, and autonomy are protected through thoughtful practice.

Beyond the Wheel also has digital ebooks, A narrative case study stories series

With Optional reflective worksheets to supports individual or group consideration that explore these same themes through character, context, and lived experience.

Each Beyond the Wheel resource stands independently and may be engaged with in any order.

About Me

Beau Potter is a speaker, advocate, para dancer, and the author of Beyond the Wheel – Adaptability. He brings a deeply lived and practical perspective to conversations about inclusion, language, identity, and empowerment — shaped not by theory, but by real experience across systems, services, and society.

The Beyond the Wheel body of work is grounded in Beau’s lived experience and extends across workshops, case study stories, and reflective resources designed to support awareness, accountability, and inclusive practice. His writing and facilitation translate lived experience into practical insight — helping individuals and organisations better understand how everyday language, assumptions, and behaviours shape outcomes.

Through a lifetime of navigating disability, Beau has experienced firsthand how systems, labels, and attitudes influence opportunity, autonomy, and self-belief. His journey spans childhood medical systems, education, employment, community life, and multiple roles within the NDIS — including experiences as a participant, collaborator, advocate, and professional contributor within disability services.

Across these roles, Beau has observed how well-intentioned systems can unintentionally reinforce stigma, limit independence, and prioritise convenience over dignity. He has also seen how small, intentional shifts — particularly in language, pacing, and behaviour — can dramatically change outcomes for individuals, teams, and communities.

Rather than positioning disability as limitation, Beau’s work centres on perspective, adaptability, and agency — encouraging professionals to move beyond habitual practices and language that no longer serve the people they support.

As a facilitator and author, Beau does not present himself as an authority over others, but as a guide who invites reflection, accountability, and growth. His approach supports readers and participants to recognise their influence, question unconscious habits, and strengthen inclusive practices that promote dignity, autonomy, and capacity building.

The Beyond the Wheel body of work exists to bridge the gap between lived experience and professional practice — turning insight into action, and awareness into meaningful, sustainable change.
