Picture this: me, a 35 kg sack of sunshine called Max, and 220 granite steps leading to Rio’s 38 m tall Christ the Redeemer.
Go-Pro on the floor, fisheye on, I haul Max over my shoulders like the world’s fluffiest kettlebell. "Almost there, buddy…" I wheeze.
He yawns in my ear – clearly unimpressed by altitude or salvation.
2. Pigeons > Prophecy 🕊️😂
We reach the platform. Epic panorama, Instagram gold, right?
Wrong. Max locks eyes on two grey pigeons fluttering past the lens.
Boom – instant canine tunnel vision. Jesus? Non-existent.
Just two winged breadcrumbs with attitude.
3. Let Us Play. Amen. 🎾⛪
Time for missionary work. I kneel, hold a neon mini-tennis-ball like the Holy Grail and whisper, "Go convert the birds, my son."
Max lunges, I yank the ball towards the pigeons – slow-mo for extra drama.
Result: one confused Labrador, zero baptised birds, 100 % meme material.
4. Conversion Rate: 0 % 📉🕊️
Wide shot: pigeons launch like feathered rockets straight over Max’s ears.
Camera tilts up, Christ statue enters frame – epic wings vs. stone arms.
Max’s jaw drops. "So… this is what air-support feels like?"
5. Dog-Level Zen Achieved 🧘♂️✨
Moment of clarity. Max folds front paws, chest, head – boom, horizontal.
Lens flare kisses the statue, heavenly choir pad kicks in (thank you, royalty-free library).
Inner peace unlocked. Outer tongue deployed.
6. Grace Level: -100 🤦♂️📉
White granite + midday sun = slip-n-slide.
Max attempts a casual side-step, hydroplanes a full metre, freeze-frames with the classic "did anyone see that?" face.
Cue slide-whistle + Vine-boom – dignity officially left the chat.
7. Max Out. Bless Up. 👋🐾
Pan from nose to thumbs-up, flash-transition, end card.
Moral of the story: you can hike to Jesus, but you can’t teach a Lab grace.
