About Me

Susan’s deep passion for movement, began when she attended her first dance class at the age of five. Her background as a professional dancer, and choreographer, with over four decades of experience teaching movement and as artistic director of Superarts Academy of Perfoming Arts, adds a rich layer to her work as a psychotherapist, and movement educator.

Her extensive experience combined with her own therapeutic journey, explorations, and inherent curiosity, has led to her developing a profound understanding of how the body holds memories, emotions, and patterns of behaviour, and her belief and focus on the "wisdom of the body," a concept that bridges the physical, psychological and spiritual, in a way that’s both intuitive and profound.

Susan has dedicated her life to exploring the interconnectedness of the body, mind and spirit. Her extensive background has provided her with a unique perspective on the body's role in personal growth and emotional and psychological renewal.

Susan's approach combines talk therapy, with movement-based practices, such as Taiji, Qigong, Authentic Movement, and other somatic applications. A dedicated psychotherapist, having graduated in 1997, Susan’s experience has led to her unique and holistic approach, tailoring her methods to help clients explore their unique experiences, identify limiting patterns, and cultivate greater self-awareness, self-compassion. and meaning.

In her practise, Susan also invites her clients to explore the guidance offered by The Dream and facilitates monthly dream groups.

Due to a challenging time in her life, driven by a desire for self-understanding and meaning, and wishing to explore her own inner landscape, Susan went into therapy, and soon after began her training at CCPE, Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, in London.

Her training was an integrative modality with a transpersonal nucleus, incorporating a broad range of theories of psychology, psychotherapy, and models of development. She continues to study these theories as well as other somatic practises and spiritual disciplines, with renowned psychotherapists, philosophers, teachers, mystics, and authors who influence her own soul’s journey.

Her CPD, (Continuing Professional Development), includes studying Authentic Movement with Linda Hartley, Experiential Anatomy with Andrea Olsen, 5Rhythms, Meditation, Holistic Massage, Process-Oriented Psychology with Arnie and Amy Mindell, and her current studies include Narcissistic Abuse, Attachment Theory, and The Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies with Dr Bessel van der Kolk and his colleagues. Inspired by the work of Dr Bessel van der Kolk, Dr Peter Levine, and other pioneers in the field of somatic approaches to trauma healing and recovery, Susan adheres to the belief that by cultivating a deeper connection to our bodies, we can unlock valuable insights and heal from past traumas.

Susan is grateful for all the teachers in her life and her personal growth owes much to her therapist Anthony Lunt, whose wisdom, mastery and care shaped her deeply over many years. After his too early passing, she continues with his wife, Anna, exploring her dreams, and is forever grateful for their profound influence. Susan is also inspired by her Taiji teacher Tim Spratt.

Other influences are Taoism, Shamanism, Astrology and The Creative Arts. Her movement practise is Taiji, Qigong, Dance…... and swimming!

Susan's compassionate and supportive approach creates a safe and nurturing environment for those wishing to explore their inner world and embark on a journey of personal transformation and living a more authentic way of being.
