we're a hoot!
Sometimes life hits you and it hits you hard! While recovering from unexpected health issues I returned to art to help me process and find peace.
For a while I could only manage drawing line art. It brought me joy! When family and friends asked if they could colour in my art I realized the joy of creative collaboration, seeing other people colour in my line art and bring it to life sparked a passion in me.
It brought me to life!
While recovering my wife and I had to reimagine our life.
We imagined a life within a community full of supportive people who love to colour, craft and create. A life where creative growth and daily joy is a priority. We imagined a life we could sustain that would support health and wellbeing.
It was our dream to make creative hobbies more easily accessible and affordable for people all around the world! And so, The Given Garden was born. A safe place, a jolly place, a place that's all about connecting with yourself and your loved ones by switching off the screens and relaxing over a creative hobby.

We love to laugh, watch copious amounts of chick flicks and drink wine (red for Emily, white for me).
We love to take walks in nature and spend time with family (especially our two kids and two cats).
We enjoy eating good food and having deep meaningful conversations about philosophical and odd topics like conspiracy theories (we think the moon landing was real... maybe) and we loooooove days off where we can POTATO all day!
Our little business started under the name Crystal & Chronicles in 2023 but quickly changed names.
We began offering mainly printable colouring pages and a handful of limited edition colouring book bundles.
Every page is hand drawn by Unnur Balla.
We are excited to release our limited edition colouring book for 2026 in July and so happy to announce our monthly membership to the creative hobby community worldwide.

While many of our colouring pages are made to bring joy and support relaxation & wellbeing, we do offer pages, books and bundles to raise awareness and encourage social justice and equity.
