Can we just agree that we are all obsessed with collecting all the markers, pencils and crayons! I think at this point whoever has the most different shades when they die wins. It's as simple as that.
We love colours!! ... but do we use them all?.... [insert crickets here]
If I'm not wrong we tend to go for our favourites first, the colour combinations we know work. Our trusted shades that always look good, because there is nothing we hate more than a colouring page ruined by the wrong shade of colour.
It's time to break in some of the markers who have never seen a colouring page. They're dying to come out and play!
Let's Experiment With Bright Colours!
I don't want to overwhelm anyone, so we are going to just stick to three simple colour palette suggestions and try to avoid decision paralysis.
We definitely don't need to be fancy about it either! if you have your colour swatches ready to go, just compair them to the screen of whatever device you are using to read this post and pick the closest colour.

Cool shades, beautiful bright colours, perfect for trying out some funky patterns.

2. Pretty Pastel Colour Palette
Expert tip: Mandalas are AMAZING for testing new colour palettes on as well as practicing blending and other colouring techniques. Have you checked out our collection of printable mandala pages? I recommend our bold line mandala bundles and books.
This colour palette turned out beautifully but sort of reminded me of easter... and it's not easter. I don't mind though. I like pastels.

3. Afternoon Tea Colour Palette
Last, but not least, this colour palette has some rich, bright colours. Add some texture with patterns and shading and blending and you are sure to end up with a masterpiece!
Again, my go to to try out new colour palettes and patterns has to be mandalas with bold lines and big blank spaces. If you struggle coming up with your own patterns, don't worry, you are not alone!
