Top TikTok Shop Marker Review

TikTok Alcohol Marker Review

There are SO many different brands of alcohol markers available. The choices are endless! But some ofthe budget friendly markers I've seen over and over again on social media are Touch New, Chen Rui and Ohuhu markers, all of which are available on TikTok Shop.

I've been using all three brands for a while now and here is my honest review based on my own experience.

Touch New

These markers have consistently been some of the most budget friendly markers available on TikTok that blend well and look beautiful on a variety of different types of paper. This was the first set of markers I bought when the alcohol marker trend started. I have both the 36 set of skin tone markers and 80 set of markers. I liked that they were SO cheap in comparison with many other brands and was surprised by how well they perform. I would 100% recommend these markers for beginners who are budget conscious!

The cons I want to point out - they can be VERY juicy, so you have to adjust how closely you colour to any line because they often saturate the paper so much that they bleed over lines. Another notable con is the nibs - they seem to wear down slightly more quickly than other brands I have tried. Finally, some of the colours can yellow surrounding pages.

I have seen some colouring artists recommend letting your colouring page dry out completely (for hours!) before you close your colouring book in order to avoid surrounding pages yellowing.

Chen Rui

I am going to be honest, this is my most used set of alcohol markers by far! I use the 128 set of markers and although some of the colours are very similar I feel like it gives a good enough range of colours that you can play around with effectively to end up with a colouring page full of depth and life. Like Touch New they are on the jucier side but I have not noticed any yellowing from the markers over time. I cannot promise it doesn't happen at all, but I haven't noticed it at all. The markers feel comfortable in the hand and they blend beautifully. The nibs hold up pretty well too, not quite as well as some other brands, but well enough for the price they are. For the price they are being offered at I can completely recommend them. A little pro tip would be to look out for coupons and offers on TikTok shop for an even lower price.

Ohuhu

Ohuhu is easily the most popular of the three and after trying them myself I can see why! I got the pastel set which includes 48 markers. That is currently the only Ohuhu set I have and while I would LOVE to have more, it is currently slightly out of my budget (I got the set as a birthday present). It took a little time to get used to the fact that they are not as juicy as the Touch New and Chen Rui markers, but they do seem to be lasting very well, both when it comes to the ink not drying out and the nibs holding up well. I have not had any problems with surrounding pages yellowing in my colouring books which is great! the pastel set with 48 markers is obviously going to have a more limited range of colours but on the plus side all of the markers in the set seem to work well together so coming up with a colour palette for your colouring page is fairly easy. All in all, though, Ohuhu offers a HUGE range of colours and some of them are refillable which is a massive plus! But to get all the markers will cost a fair bit. My plan is to save up and maybe even ask those closes to me just to give me money for Christmas and Birthdays towards more sets from Ohuhu. I will absolutely be getting more!
