A fresh wind gently blows through the leaves. The petals shiver. The fragrance reaches us with the next gust. The sun slowly sets and tints the surroundings with a golden glow. The stones around us will long stay warm, but the wind quickly makes the temperature drop. I grab my shawl, thinking back of the day, strolling through the vineyards and rose gardens. Auro is an ode to all these frail petals, colors, smells and fresh breezes blowing around us.

Auro showcases one main lace stitch pattern and a border with peaks forming rays. The shawl curls in a whirlwind, making it both fun to knit and wear. Wrap your neck in soft luxury and join me on this journey, enjoying the landscape and peacefulness along the way.

The yarn originally used in this pattern, Rêves Pastel Paysages Fingering (previously sold as Secret Garden or Shleep Yarns), has become hard to source. This pattern page therefore lists possible substitutes using the exact same yarn base, namely The Uncommon Thread Silky Singles, Q-Lana Merino Silk single, Martin's Lab Silky Singles. For more possible substitutes with the same yarn composition, check out this Ravelry search: https://www.ravelry.com/yarns/search#weight=fingering&fiberc=2&discontinued=no&ya=single-ply&fiber-content=silk%2Bmerino&sort=best&view=thumblist

For best effect, use a smooth, round yarn with reasonable stitch definition, plied or single. Yarn weights ranging from Fingering to DK would be suitable. As for colorways, I would recommend solid, semi-solid, speckled, tonal variegated (low contrast), or gradient (single skein or gradient set) yarns.
