TRADE WINDS: A Global Trade Game
Trade Winds is an arcade style geography and economics game where students run a cargo ship and must match world regions with the products they export. At the top of the screen, players receive a trade contract such as Europe, East Asia, Africa, or South America. Their job is to catch only the goods that belong to that region while avoiding exports from everywhere else.
Each region has its own realistic export profile. Europe ships cars, wine, cheese, and fashion. East Asia sends technology, rice, tea, and robotics. South America exports coffee, fruit, cocoa, and beef. As cargo falls from the sky, students must quickly recognize which products match the active trade contract, building real world knowledge of global trade patterns while playing a fast paced arcade game.
You will receive a game guide with a student worksheet and a direct link for sharing the online game with students. If you are a teacher and are worried about the game being blocked by your school's server, contact us; there are two easy ways to make the game available besides the direct link.
