This research explores the sociolinguistic features of code-switching and code-mixing as used in selected episodes of Jenifa’s Diary, a popular Nigerian television series. It examines how the characters alternate between English, Yoruba, Pidgin, and other local expressions to reflect identity, social class, humor, and cultural context. This study sets to examine the languages used in the production of movies in Nigeria, with particular emphasis on Jenifa; to assess the evidence of multilingual practice in Nollywood movies with specifics on Jenifa’s diary; to examine the level of indigenous languages utilization in the production of Nigerian movies. This research consists of a title page, approval page, certification, abstract, Chapters One to Five (from introduction to conclusion), and references.
