INFLUENCE OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS (A CASE STUDY OF UDI L.G.A OF ENUGU STATE)

This study examined the effect of child abuse and neglect on the academic performance of secondary school students in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. In carry out this study, four research questions were formulated to guide the study. The questionnaire was administered to the sampled teachers. The responses were analysed using mean and frequency.

The specific objectives are to examine the prevalence of child abuse and neglect among secondary school students; investigate the influence of street hawking, on academic performance of secondary school students in study area; to investigate the influence of child abuse and neglect on the academic performance of secondary school students; to explore the factors contributing to child abuse and neglect among secondary school students in Udi LGA. This research consists of a title page, approval page, certification, abstract, list of abbreviations, Chapters One to Five (from introduction to conclusion), and references.
