Chromatic Incantations
HOGWARTS: WHERE SPELLS BECOME STORIES.
House-colored. Tradition-bound.
Echoes of hallways. Shadows of candles.
Ink-stained pages. Wand-lit corridors.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a nine-page Google Doc template designed to be used for a single muse from the HP Wizarding World. It is modeled to be flexible for a student or alumni of Hogwarts. Screw she-who-must-not-be-named and enjoy making the world your own without adding to her tainted pocket. These are to celebrate the magic we make ourselves, because imagination and politics should be inclusive and diverse.
Complexity Level: Despite the use of some drawing functions, this one is pretty accessible. So an easy-medium!
Page Order: Optional cover page. Introduction, appearance, personality, and backstory make up the four core pages. Then there are four pages on the more "optional" side: magical abilities, academic history, further details, and relationships. I mean, everything is optional once it's yours haha but you know what I mean!
TIPS ON MAKING IT YOUR OWN:
- For full editing capabilities, you will need to access this template on a computer. Templates are viewable on mobile if you toggle the "Print Layout" option (likely to be found in the top-right menu).
- Text, colors, and layout elements can be adjusted to fit your needs. Nonetheless, do not remove the linked emoji (page one) and credit links (page seven and eight) that direct to my Tumblr.
- The visuals have been added as Google "drawings" though each page only has one and they're all in there together. Editing drawings requires double-clicking them first and clicking on them once and then clicking the "Edit" button on the bar that appears underneath the drawing. Either of these actions will open the drawing editing window.
- The background Hogwarts image is inside the header to keep it from bothering you while you're editing things. To change this out, you'll need to first double-click at the top of the page to open the "header" editing function. Then you'll be able to click on the background image!
- Avoid copy-pasting images directly into the document, as this may disrupt the formatting. Always use the "Replace Image" function instead.
- Be mindful of text limits and the sizes of text boxes, as exceeding what is already in the template can disrupt the formatting.
- The "Backstory" page is formatted in a way that will allow you to use more pages without any formatting issues. The text will simply continue on in a two-column manner and push the other pages back. You may also choose to add decorative foreground images to these pages, but that is up to your discretion.
YOU WILL RECEIVE:
- A PDF with a link to the template's Google Doc.
- This includes instructions on how to make your own copy and protect it properly.
- A PDF with usage instructions and troubleshooting support options.
