Strangers ( an AI animated film, 2026 )
“Strangers” is an experimental autobiographical animated film created with the help of artificial intelligence, where memory, perception, and imagination merge into a fragmented visual flow built from multiple graphic styles: 2D animation, low-poly sequences inspired by 1990s video game aesthetics, contemporary Japanese influences, and surreal imagery suspended somewhere between dreams and hallucination. The constant shifts in visual language mirror the inner transformations of the protagonist, caught in a fragile transition between adolescence and adulthood.
The story begins during the final months before high school graduation, in a period marked by anxiety, emotional disappointment, and the growing feeling that ordinary reality is no longer enough for the young protagonist. Withdrawn into an inner world shaped by esoteric literature, science fiction, and myths about invisible dimensions, he begins searching for alternative ways of understanding existence. At the same time, the dream of studying architecture starts to emerge as a possible spiritual path — a balance between mathematical rigor and artistic sensitivity.
His home temporarily becomes a refuge for a small touring band led by a close female friend. Between rehearsals, modest concerts, and long exhausting nights after unsuccessful performances, the protagonist slowly gravitates toward the world of music and artistic creation, discovering a growing fascination with the hidden structure of sound and the mysterious mechanics of creativity itself.
One night, the group receives an unexpected visit from a mysterious foreign traveler coming from a distant country. Conversations drift between the ordinary and the fantastic, and following an unusual sensory experience, the protagonist is pushed into an intense state of introspection where fear, paranoia, and loss of control become almost tangible. Yet the film is not centered on altered perception itself, but on the direct confrontation with the mind’s own mechanisms of fear and the attempt to understand the unknown without becoming consumed by it.
After that night, an obsessive listening session to the music of his favorite artist triggers a profound shift in perspective. Musical structures begin transforming into mental images, geometric spaces, and abstract architectures, leading the protagonist to realize that his artistic path may no longer continue through conventional architecture, but through electronic music and visual creation instead.
The title “Strangers” refers both to the figure of the outsider entering a closed community and disturbing its balance, and to the universal feeling of alienation — from others, from the world, and even from one’s own mind. The film ultimately becomes a meditation on memory, artistic identity, and the way fear, isolation, and boundary experiences can transform an uncertain teenager into an artist searching for his own voice.
