Full description

For safety officers, executive chefs, chief stewards and department heads who need a working JSA library, not a blank template. The main workbook has 40 tasks and 203 steps across general, kitchen, stewarding, banquets, bar and restaurant, housekeeping and engineering. Each step carries a hazard, a control, a control type and likelihood and severity before and after controls. The register finds each task's highest score, shows whether the controls moved the band, sets the next review date and flags overdue reviews. Training records count competent staff against staff in role, and the sign-off column shows High tasks without a general manager date. The companion workbook is a one-page JSA form that scores your own tasks and keeps a form log, and the guide teaches how to walk a task, score it and train from it.

How it works

  1. Set the band limits, review interval, training target and report date on Assumptions.
  2. Walk each real task and edit the steps, hazards, controls and scores on Step Analysis.
  3. Update the register with the owner, last review and any change since the review.
  4. Record demonstrations and signatures on Training Records and set the staff in role.
  5. Review the Dashboard and Department View, then fix overdue reviews, training gaps and missing sign-offs.

FAQ

Are the 40 tasks ready to use as they are?

They are a starting point. Walk each task with the people who do it, then edit the steps, hazards, controls and scores.

Can I change the risk bands and the review interval?

Yes. The band limits, review months, training target, pass score and lift limit are inputs on Assumptions.

How is the task score calculated?

Each step is scored likelihood times severity. The task takes the highest step score, before and after controls.

What does the companion workbook do?

It is a one-page JSA form that scores up to 14 steps, finds the highest score and band, sets the next review date, and keeps a form log.

Do I need macros?

No. Every result is a standard worksheet formula.
