Meet Your New Payhip Store
Last updated: November 23, 2022
One of the most requested features we get is better store customization and we loved this feedback. So we have been working hard for the past year to make this happen and today we are super excited to finally ship this feature and many others. Check them about below.
You can access these features right now by logging into your Payhip account and visiting your dashboard.
1. Store Builder
The new store builder allows you to have far more control over the design and layout of your store. Make your store match you brand with the new powerful customization options. You can edit colors, fonts and so much more. Let’s dive into the what the new store builder is capable of.
Add Sections To Your Store
One area you’ll love is the ability to add sections to any page on your store. Here are a few examples:
- Video section — include YouTube/Vimeo videos on your store
- Gallery section — share photos in different layouts with store visitors
- Testimonial section — encourage people to purchase with warm messages from previous customers
- Newsletter section — an important part of marketing is building a list of fans who you can promote future products to
- Featured product section — embed a featured product on any page of your store so it’s easier to purchase
- and many other types of sections
Add New Custom Pages
If you’d like create an entirely new page, then you can do so with the new custom page feature. For example, you might want an FAQ page to explain your store policies to customers. It’s as simple as creating a new custom page and adding a text section to explain your policies. Of course you can add any types of sections to the new page you just created. This makes it a super powerful feature that flexibility allows you to create exactly the type of store you want.
Customize Colors & Fonts
You’re now able to edit nearly every color and font you see on your store. It’s super easy to do and will allow you to bring real character to your store.
2. Store Search
With the new store search feature, your customers will be able to quickly and easily find any product on your store with the click of a button.
You can now search within @payhip stores. Click To Tweet
3. Blog
Build a community around your store with a blog. There’s more to business than just a transactional relationship with your customers. Sharing your knowledge, news and announcements with your customers with a blog is a powerful way to encourage your customers to keep coming back to your store and increase sales.
The new blogging system gives you all the tools you’ll need to create a blog your customers will love.
4. Translations
We’re committed to helping sellers run their business in their preferred language with our first ever multilingual update. Your store is now available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.
8 languages to choose from for your @payhip store. Click To TweetThis is just the start, in future we’ll be offering more languages so that you can sell to your customers in all major languages.
5. Other Notable Updates
Here is a list of other feature updates that you might be interested in:
- Custom Domain

Thank you Abs. Sounds great! I have a few questions:
1) I have books in different languages. May I set the language for each page separately?
2) Even though each page will look dramatically different (I read the warning) and I must invest time to re-design each one, will the embedded code elsewhere remain nearly the same on an outside website?
2) Are you planning to allow using our own domain and/ or subdomain in the near future?
Thank you!
Hi Allan,
Thank you for your kind words!
1. At the moment, the language can only be set for one Payhip account/store
2. Yes our embeds will continue to work fine without any impact
3. Yes! We are hoping to launch custom domains very soon too
I hope the above helps.
Hi, I love the new features and I love payhip but there´s still something I would love to be included in payhip. I think it would be a good idea be able to add to the cart directly all the items you want without having to go to the product first. I don´t know if you understand what I mean, an ”add to cart” button on the shop. Because if some user wants for buy a lot of products in a row it can be a little bit annoying have to click on the product, add to cart, go to the shop again, click on the next product, add to cart… Anyways I love payhip, in my opinion is the best website to sell your online products.
Hi Alejandro,
Thank you for the kind words, we really appreciate it.
I totally understand what you mean and that is something that I did not think of. You are right, there are two many back and forth clicks to add multiple items to the cart.
Thank you for letting me know, I’ll pass this feedback back to the team!
this would be great
Please make subscription possible with PayPal as well. A great new look of the stores, by the way!
Hi Igor, thank you for the feedback! 🙂
PayPal for subscriptions/memberships is on the roadmap. We just need to get through a few other things first before that. Lots to do!
The video looks really nice showing what the updated store would look like. If you update your store, will that alter the links to your individual products? Thanks so much!
Hi and thank you for the kind words! No the update will not effect the links of individual products. It also won’t effect your store URL or if you have embedded Payhip buy buttons.
Thanks Abs
crypto next?
Hi Will, Crypto is on the product roadmap. But there are a few other things in front of it in the queue. However, we will get to it eventually!
Are we able to customise the e-receipt that customers get? I know we can customise the message in this email but I would really love to add my own branding to it too!
Great question and a solid point. To have complete brand control – we plan on having the ability to customise email receipts too. It is in the works for sure.
Hi, could you add a gradient function to customize the backgrounds? Thank you!
Hi Ivan, what kind of gradients do you mean? Can you tell me more please?
Smooth transition between 2 colors, for example from white to black. I would also like to see a background setting for each section. Thanks!
Ah thanks for clarifying. Apologies I’m not sure if we’ll be able to work on gradients in future, for now the next best option is to upload a background image (with gradient) for the section. Sorry about this. Please shoot us an email at contact@payhip.com and I can walk you through the process.
This looks amazing! I’m very excited about all these new feature especially blogging 😀
Hi Mia, thank you for your kind words! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the blogging feature when you get a chance. 🙂
Wow, i’m so excited to re-edited my store now in PAYHIP…
I’m already user 👤
Thank you for your kind words! 🙂
The store builder is a long awaited features. However, your own Payhip front is still not inviting for customers to come and shop. Not like Amazon or Etsy.
Hi Nik, we don’t have a store front for all stores on Payhip. We are more of an ecommerce platform rather than a marketplace like Amazon/Etsy. But it’s still something we are thinking about.
Hi Abs,
I am glad you are not like Etsy etc… there are enough of those kind of marketplaces where your products get lost in a massive sea of others. I also am not very trustung of either of what was mentioned.
I do however love the stand alone storefront you have provided us, and they make a person who is running a store or stores here, create something unique and also to “force” them if you will, to work harder with their mailing lists, and promote their businesses as stand alone brand, just like they would if they were building on WP or any other host. This kind of work pays off!
I am an avid lover of this platform, thank you so much for creating it, and constantly working to make it better!
Hi Angela! Thanks so much for your kind words <3
Nice to see updates to the product. Is it possible to default a store-matched theme template for customer emails for a consistent branding?
Also has benchmark email api been fixed?
Hi Tim, thank you!
This is something we are definitely going to work on – carrying the branding through to the emails customers get. With regards to Benchmark, we haven’t fixed this yet but hopefully we will as soon as we get a bunch of other things out of the way first!
Hey, could You add shadows funktion to the text? This would solve many of the problems with the readability of the text. Please. Thanks!
In general, I am delighted with the update, I managed to make a good website design, although I had to create images to smooth the transition between the blocks.
Hi Ivan, thank you for the kind words! I’ve replied to your question in your other comment.
Is there a way to customize the order of products in a collection? I sell books in a series and would like to change the order they are listed on the Collections page
Hey Dharma, I think you might have emailed us about this, I’ve sent you a message now – hope this helps.
Can I also change the position of the background for the mobile version? As it is currently displayed on the left side, not in the center. Thank you!
Hi Ivan, absolutely, please email us at contact@payhip.com and we can provide some custom CSS you can apply to your store to change the background image positioning on mobile and also handle gradients/text-shadow to make the text more legible.
hello Abs,
i am thinking to use your platform to sell memberships to my customers in Russia. would that be possible to add russian language?
many thanks
Alexandra
Hey Alexandra, thank you for the suggestion. I’ve added a +1 for Russian. We will be adding more languages in the future based on the number of requests we get.
Wonderful additions!
Thank you Liam! 😊
melhor espaço que conheço para fazer uma loja.
Thank you / Obrigada 🙂
Hi Abs,
these are great additions!
I have a question concerning the language:
Since only one language is possible per account, could I open two accounts?
I sell PDFs in English and German, so I would need both languages.
Thank you for your help,
Monie
Hi Monie, thank you for your kind word! Yes it’s totally fine to have two Payhip accounts. You just need a unique email address and you can connect the same PayPal/Stripe accounts.
Thank you, Abs, that’s so helpful!
Wish you a lovely weekend.
I haven’t worked on the new features yet but plan to. I have 2 pdf patterns that I sell through payhip and it has been successful and easy for me. I do have a question though. If I add an update or a correction to an item How do I send the customer back to be able to re-download the updated pdf without them paying a second time?
Hi Elona, that’s great to hear! With regards to corrections this is a perfect use case for our email updates feature: https://payhip.com/support/email-updates/
Hello, I suggest you include the Arabic language soon. Thank you. Very nice site
Hi, thank you for the suggestion. I’ve added a +1 for Arabic for our product roadmap.
Hi, could you add Serbian language? Thank you!
Hi Jelena, thank you for the suggestion. I’ve added a +1 for Serbian.
I welcome the new development,
Keep it up.
excellent additions! and they’re free with an account?
you guys rock!
Hi Vince, thank you for the kind words! And yes the store builder is available for everyone!
Brilliant update – thanks team!
One suggestion if I may – it would be great if customers could leave reviews and rate products, and products could then get a rating out of 5 stars which is displayed (similar to Gumroad). That would give the products more social proof.
Cheers!
Hi Ryan, thank you for your kind words! And that is a great idea that is on the product roadmap! Hopefully, we will ship this in the near future.
Abs and crew,
This is very exciting news! You guys have been busy and this is proof once again that you listen to your customers.
Now I need to get busy and see how it all works.
Hi Bradley! Thank you for the kind words! 🙂
These new features look amazing!
Is it still possible to add custom CSS, if needed? It’s entirely possible that I won’t need it, but I like the reassurance of having that option
Hi, thank you for the kind words! 🙂 Yes, it is definitely possible to add custom CSS still.
You can find this by going to the Store Builder > Change Store Style > Advanced.
Perfect!
I can’t wait for the ability to have a custom domain, btw. It’ll make things a lot more seamless (and easier for me to update and maintain) in connection with my website!
Hi,
love the new Store Builder, it truly delivers all features and functions I always wanted for my own website with integrated shop :D.
I have just one question: Will there be a way to customize the Favicon of your payhip-website?
Keep it up guys, you’re amazing!
Hi Patrick, thank you very much for your kind words! 🙂
That is a great suggestion, I will feed this back to the team. It should be something that is straightforward to implement hopefully!
I love the new features! Thank you. It would be great if an RSS feed could be added to the blog so that customers could follow it, if they wanted to.
Hi Shelli, thank you very much for your kind words! 🙂
I have added this to our to-do list! We will think about it some more to see where it sits in the huge priority list that we have going at the moment!
So good and useful thing you have shared with us. I have read and appreciated this well published. Thank you.
Awesome new features! Will definitely try them out. I’m currently using Gumroad but I’m searching for better alternatives. Are you planning to add the feature to your roadmap that the customer can choose between different product versions? For example a blue version a red version, or a small package and a big package?
Greetings
Kai
Hi Kai, thank you for your kind words! 🙂
Do you mean product variations? We do have this for physical products but do you want these options for digital products too?
Hey Abs, thanks for the quick response! Yes, for example, that I can upload five files in a single product and then select the variants. Variant 1 = File 1-3, Variant 2 = File 1-5. That would be ideal for me because I only have to publish 75 products instead of 150. Yesterday I created an account and I’m really pleased with the dashboard and analytic-tools. Another wish would be to duplicate existing products. So that I don’t have to change the formatting of the description 75 times. My username is simplyintros at Gumroad and Payhip. Feel free to take a look.
Greetings
Kai 😊
Hi Kai, that’s a really interesting use case. I’ll pass this on to the team to think about and consider putting in the roadmap. The duplicating products feature is definitely on the roadmap so I’ve added another +1. We appreciate your feedback!
Btw, awesome job on your store design, you really customised it! 🙂
Hi Abs, nice work with Payhip in general, and on the new store builder in particular. I would love it if all parts of the dashboard fit phone screens as well as the store builder. Right now you’re kind of forced to a computer, or at least a tablet, to create new products, to manage settings and various other things. Is this something you’re working on or thinking about?
Hi Paul, thank you for your kind words! 🙂 You are right our dashboard definitely needs improvement so that it can be used on a mobile/tablet device. This is on our product roadmap and we have thought about it. But it’s further down the list to be honest. The only reason for this is that we are firstly working on other features that will hopefully lead to more sales. But it will eventually be done!
Hi Abs,
These changes are brilliant! I have just come back to Payhip from an Etsy Pattern store and am so pleased with all the changes. With all the changes your service is just so much better than Pattern!
I know both these have been mentioned already – but the ability to change the Favicon and a function for my customers to leave reviews would be awesome.
One other thing I would really like to see is a membership that does not have a recording charge. This would be great for running mini courses.
Hi Rachel, thank you for your kind words! Btw, I really like your store design! Really nice and clean setup.
Favicon and reviews, I totally agree with and it will be built. We will try and get the Favicon feature done as quickly as we can as it’s more straightforward and helps keeps things on brand.
Great idea on memberships without having to add card details. At the moment you can set a plan to be £0 but members would still have to enter card details which isn’t efficient. On the to-do list!
Wonderful changes, everything I always wanted.
Thank you Hilary. 🙂
hi If I want to sell my ebook in 8 different languages it is possible?
Hi, Yes this is totally possible – all you have to do is upload each language as a separate file and the buyer can chose which language to download.
So well this blog and the topics also. I have read the blog and liked it with the store. Keep continue such well blog.
Hi i have a suggestion, and i understand you would have a lot by now so there is no rush, But i was wondering if it would like possible to make the variations separate with a drop down menu example
Size:
small
medium
large
Than another drop down menu for a different option Ex:
Colour
-red
-green
-blue
At the moment it shows all in 1 line
Ex:
medium, Blue $10
Medium Red $10
Medium Green $10
Thank You 🙂
Hi Sacha, thank you for the feedback! 🙂 I will pass this on to the team.
Hi good day, sorry maybe this is a non sense question, but i am frustrated. On my seller account i have this 200+ viewers now. My question is where i can find the payhip marketplace, because how come that i have views even my website is not index on google, or how payhip market my products or how the potential customers can find my product on internet? hope i get some answers, thank you so much
Hi Jerome,
No worries at all – that is a valid question! It’s not in our immediate plans to create a Payhip marketplace at this point in time. This is because we’ve found that it’s more effective for customers to build their own dedicated audience. For example, with a marketplace, the seller’s content will be listed alongside all of their competitors, so there’s more competition for customers. That said, this is a fairly common request so it may be something we build in the future. 🙂
For now, we recommend marketing your products in places where your potential customers might hang out a lot! We make it easy to share your Payhip products on any platform and users can also easily integrate Payhip into their existing website if they want to! You can read more about it here: Add Payhip to your website
Hi, how can I add Custom pages headings to my Main page so people can click from the Home page and be sent directly to a specific Custom page?
Many thanks, Tony
Hi Tony,
To add Custom pages as headings on your main page, make your way to the Header section using the Store Builder. That should take you to a section where you can customize the Navigation links and specify where visitors should be redirected to. 🙂
This looks amazing! I’m very excited about all these new feature especially blogging 😀
Hi there! We’re happy to hear you are excited.
How to go to Payhip as a buyer?
Hi Pradeep. Payhip doesn’t have a centralized marketplace where you can search for products. Instead, every seller has their own dedicated store that they use to promote their products. If you want to buy a product from someone, you’ll need to have the link to their store.
Option: Social Discount doesn’t work. Is this a general problem or is it just not working for me?
When it will be fixed?
Hi Pat. I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with social discounts. Please email us at contact@payhip.com and we’ll be happy to take a look at this for you.
Don’t want to step on Lucy as a mod, but Pat, did you connect a domain to your store.
The social discount will not work if you have attached your own domain.
Hi Angela! We’ve actually now retired the social discount feature due to some limitations imposed by Facebook.
Hey there, is there a way to merge two different business accounts together on the same platform?
Hi Nicola! Currently, there isn’t a way to merge accounts, but I’ve added it as a feature request so it’ll be on our radar for future updates.
How do we add the “Add to cart” button above the buy now button, as show in the Customize Colors & Fonts video? I know about the embed codes, and I actually had my add to cart button in that exact spot before. But somehow it got changed and now I cannot get my add to cart button back over my buy now button, it will only show up at the bottom or top of my product page.
Hi Jennifer, if you only have one product in your store, you will not see an Add to Cart button. Once you add a second product, the Add to Cart button will appear automatically.
