At Palm Tote, sustainability is not a marketing position — it is the natural result of how we make our bags. Handwoven from natural palm leaf, palm straw and raffia, every piece in our collection is rooted in materials and methods that have worked in harmony with the environment for generations.

We make our bags by hand in Morocco, using traditional weaving techniques that have been practiced for centuries. That is not a brand story — it is simply how we work. And it shapes every decision we make, from the materials we choose to the way we bring each piece to life.

01 — Natural materials, always Every bag we make starts with what the earth provides — palm leaf, palm straw and raffia, all natural and biodegradable. No synthetics. No shortcuts. We choose materials that are honest about what they are, and we work with them the way they were always meant to be worked: by hand.

02 — Handmade, not mass-produced We weave every bag by hand using traditional Moroccan techniques. There are no factories, no production lines, no intermediaries. Each piece takes time — because that is what it takes to make something properly. The result is a bag with real character, and a making process we are genuinely proud of.

03 — Made to last The most sustainable bag is the one you keep for years. We make every Palm Tote piece to endure — in quality, in construction, and in style. Buying less and buying better is the most honest sustainability commitment we know.

04 — Vegan options throughout Several pieces in our collection — including the Medina Raffia Bag — are finished entirely with vegan leather, for those who want craft without compromise.

05 — Small batches, no waste We do not overproduce. Every bag is made by hand in considered quantities, which means waste is minimal by design. When something sells out, it is because we made it carefully — not because we ran a promotion.

Where are Palm Tote bags made? We make every bag by hand in Morocco, using traditional weaving techniques that have been practiced for generations. It is how we have always worked, and how we intend to continue.

What materials do you use? We use natural palm leaf, palm straw and raffia — natural, biodegradable materials that we have worked with from the beginning. Handles and straps are finished in calf leather or vegan leather depending on the style. Every material is listed clearly on each product page.

Are your bags vegan? Some styles are, and some are not. The Medina Raffia Bag is finished entirely in vegan leather. The Atlas Basket Bag and Kasbah Raffia Bag use calf leather. We are always transparent about materials so you can choose with confidence.

Are the bags sustainable? We make our bags from natural, biodegradable materials, entirely by hand, in small quantities with no overproduction. We believe that is a genuinely sustainable way to work — and we are always looking for ways to do more.

How should I care for my bag? Keep your bag away from prolonged direct sunlight and moisture. If it gets wet, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. A soft brush can be used to remove surface dust from the weave. With a little care, your Palm Tote bag will last for years.
