Product Care
Our bags are made from natural materials — palm leaf, palm straw and raffia — that are designed to last for years with the right care. A little attention goes a long way.
Everyday care
- Keep your bag away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can cause the natural fibres to fade and dry out over time
- Avoid contact with water where possible — natural palm and raffia are not waterproof materials
- If the surface collects dust, brush it gently with a soft dry brush, paying attention to the inner corners and edges of the weave where fine particles can settle
If your bag gets wet Allow it to dry naturally at room temperature in a cool, shaded place. Never use a hairdryer, radiator or direct heat source to speed up drying, as this can cause the fibres to contract and distort the shape of the bag.
Leather and vegan leather details Wipe leather handles and straps with a clean dry cloth after use. For deeper cleaning, use a small amount of leather conditioner applied with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking or saturating the leather with water.
Storage Store your bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing in plastic bags or airtight containers — natural fibres need to breathe. If you are storing for an extended period, stuff the interior loosely with tissue paper to help the bag retain its shape.
What to avoid
- Machine washing
- Tumble drying
- Prolonged exposure to sun or heat
- Harsh chemical detergents or sprays
- Overfilling, which can distort the structure of the weave over time
A note on natural materials Because our bags are made from natural plant fibres, small changes in texture and tone over time are entirely normal — and in our view, part of what makes them beautiful. A well-loved Palm Tote bag develops its own character with use, and that is exactly as it should be.
