LOVE ME KYOKO 🌸
“SHE BLOOMS LIKE A CHERRY FLOWER.”
I created Love Me Kyoko in 2023 as a visual and narrative concept.
It began as a kawaii world of drawings, sketches, and delicate ideas—and slowly became music. The sound grew from petals and sunlight: sweet, playful, and filled with innocence.
At the heart of this universe is Kyoko Sakurami (桜見 京子), a 10-year-old girl living in Dream Tokyo—the same fictional city where Astral Ishikawa’s story unfolds.
But while Astral’s Tokyo feels nostalgic and mysterious, Kyoko’s shines with pastel colors and everyday magic.
Her surname, Sakurami (桜見), combines 桜 (sakura, “cherry blossom”) and 見 (mi, “to look/admire”)—it literally evokes one who admires the cherry blossoms, a gentle nod to hanami. Its mood recalls the carefree atmosphere of 1990s shōjo anime—simple, dreamy, and filled with gentle optimism.
Kyoko is tender, shy, and always daydreaming. She sees beauty in the smallest things: a spring breeze, a friend’s smile, the sound of rain on a window.
Her songs are like diary pages, transforming little daily moments into stories of friendship, crushes, and innocent love.
What makes Kyoko’s world special is her bond to another story: she is the cousin of Astral Ishikawa, the heroine of Astral Supernova—linked through her mother’s side. This makes Love Me Kyoko not just a separate project, but a true spin-off—both narratively and musically within the same multiverse
of Cyla World.
Musically, Love Me Kyoko blends kawaii J-pop, soft city pop, and shibuya-kei sweetness. Delicate female vocals dance above pastel chords, airy synths, playful guitars, and gentle rhythms. Each track feels like a polaroid of childhood dreams—a melody of candy-colored skies and sakura blossoms.
The character of Kyoko has emerald-green/blue hair and aquamarine eyes, reflecting her unique charm. Her symbol is the cherry blossom, eternal and fleeting at the same time. Through her, the music becomes not just a sound—but a smile, a fleeting dream,
a tender memory.
Created by Simone Morana (Cyla), Italian digital artist, writer, and musician known for blending visual art and storytelling into cohesive, emotional worlds.
With over 1000 artworks published worldwide since 2012, 12 art books, 3 poetry collections, 1 novel (Killer Lady), and multiple music projects under the label Cyla World. Love Me Kyoko exists alongside Astral Supernova, Mystic Jokes, Moonlight Venus, Raflesia Nightkiss, Sunshine Lullaby, Killer Lady, Sisters of Vega, Crystal Dream, and Niky Blue—each one a different color in the same cosmic dream.
