STRAWBERRY JAM 🍓

“Sweet like a strawberry 🍓

Harsh like the truth”

Strawberry Jam is a musical spin-off of the novel Killer Lady, created by Simone Morana Cyla and brought to life through the voices of Brenda Collins and Dana Sullivan. Strawberry Jam was born from a simple idea: telling uncomfortable truths through soft voices, warm melodies, and bittersweet emotions. The project exists between sweetness and sorrow, hope and disappointment, beauty and decay. Beneath its dreamy atmosphere lies a journey through the contradictions of modern society, exploring forgotten voices, social injustice, manipulation, loneliness, memory, and the things people are often encouraged to ignore. The strawberry itself is part of the story. Its red color reflects Dana, while its golden seeds reflect Brenda. Together they become a jam, blending different perspectives into a single voice.

The word “Jam” also refers to rap jam sessions, where ideas, emotions, and experiences come together freely.

At its core, Strawberry Jam is rap. Not rap driven solely by anger, but rap shaped by reflection, melancholy, and social awareness.

It explores the hidden wounds of society, the silence surrounding injustice, and the memories that refuse to disappear. Rather than shouting, it speaks through echoes, emotions, and unanswered questions, wrapping social criticism in dreamy melodies and nostalgic atmospheres. Sweet at first taste and sometimes sour underneath, Strawberry Jam is a reminder that even the gentlest songs can carry the weight of truth. Through the voices of Brenda Collins and Dana Sullivan, Strawberry Jam transforms social commentary into poetry, melancholy into music, and memory into resistance.
