Velvet Roses is a melodic rock band from Astral Heaven, the fictional city at the heart of the novel Killer Lady by Simone Morana Cyla. Formed in 2017, the group quickly became the beating heart of the story’s musical soul a symbol of rebellion, love, and friendship. The band is composed of four members: Eric Taylor (vocals, rhythm guitar, violin) is the leader and main composer a street-born poet whose voice and melodies blend strength and vulnerability. Once a street violinist wandering through Astral Heaven, Eric founded the band after meeting Skinny Jack (Jack Harper), a gifted and instinctive guitarist whose energy and stage presence became the electric counterpart to Eric’s lyrical intensity. Liam Mitchell (drums), the rhythmic backbone of the group, joined after a late-night encounter in the bar where he worked, adding precision, fire, and heart to the band’s sound. Paul Anderson (bass) completes the quartet a fragile but soulful musician whose emotional depth and past scars echo in every note he plays. Their music combines melodic rock with traces of post-grunge and emotional storytelling, drawing on the legacy of Bon Jovi, Nickelback, and The Calling yet shaped by the unique, haunting presence of Eric’s violin,

which adds a cinematic and timeless layer

to their sound.
