Two Catherine Barrés cross the Atlantic a year apart. The one of 1663 is born in La Rochelle, baptized at the Protestant temple, the daughter of a master pastry cook. She marries the mason Nicolas Roy at Québec on October 22, 1663. Under her arrival, Landry adds two words that follow her: emigrated in 1665. This booklet tells the two women apart, places her path in the recruitment of the Filles du roi at La Rochelle and Dieppe, and says what the sources do not allow us to claim. Identity sheet with certainty levels, narrative, sources. Profile no. 4 of Volume 1663. 5-page PDF in English.
