Polruan in Black and White
Black and white photography is an effective technique for accentuating contrasting light. When I shot this in Fowey in late Autumn 2023, the skies were so dramatic. In this image, bright sun hangs behind the dappled clouds over Polruan.
The eye is cast over the darkness of the land, then there’s a point of escape at the estuary. If you choose to print this off, I’d recommend a black frame with white mount for maximum impact!
If you’d prefer a colour version view of Polruan and the River Fowey estuary, check out my Polruan Daytime image or even my Golden Polruan Sun panorama.
See the image previews for both the overall image, then examples of zoomed-in detail.
