Golden Polruan Sun - Panorama
This multi-shot panoramic image captures the late autumnal sun over Polruan harbour from the Fowey side. This view is further down river from my Bodinnick and Fowey panorama, capturing more of the estuary and the riverside properties of Polruan. Polruan is an ancient ship-building town, dating back to medieval times.
A dredger works tirelessly on the left side of the image, with Polruan harbour behind it. On the right (in the bigger JPEGs), where the river meets the sea, you might glimpse the respective fortifications of the two towns; the silhouette of St Catherine’s Castle perches on the Fowey side in the farthest distance, while the dark Polruan Castle can be seen under the treeline and after the last lighter houses on the opposite side of the estuary.
In the foreground on the right, a seagull perches on a plaque, watching a nearby bin for scraps. Just above its head in the middle-distance you’ll see the bright red lighthouse on Whitehouse Point Quay.
At a ratio of 2:1, this image will print easily to 30 by 15 inches if you opt for the large JPEG. But if you want to go far bigger at 40 inches (or more!), the ‘oversized’ image is the one for you. The golden colour scheme will make an impact My image previews give both the overall image, then examples of zoomed-in detail.
