Taken on a bright Autumn day, this image looks up at the Fowey Parish Church as it towers above the viewer, to the heavens. Taken at a wide angle to emphasise the impressiveness of this historic building, there’s so much detail and texture to admire in the architecture. The focal point is upon the weathered stonework leading up to the window, while the tower’s buttresses enclose this symmetrical scene.

Fowey’s parish church is formally known as the Church of St Fimbarrus. Part of the magnificent ancient architecture in central Fowey, this Grade I listed building was built in the early 1300’s.

You might also like my views looking through the Fowey Church archway, or as part of the backdrop looking down the very charming walkway off Church Avenue.

See the image previews for both the overall image, then examples of zoomed-in detail.
