Passage Street, Fowey
While visiting Fowey, you’ll notice that in addition to wealth of fantastic riverside and estuary views, there’s so much quaint, Cornish architecture to enjoy as you walk through the historic streets. Here’s a view looking North from Passage Street down Station Road.
It’s striking how steeped in history this town is and I love how every characterful cottage seems uniquely built and presented. There’s much to see at every turn, though watch out for traffic if you’re taking some snaps as there’s rarely footpaths along the narrow streets!
I liked the contrast between the light blue rendering and brickwork of these towering townhouses, against the more ochre cottages opposite. The white garage door is intriguing, beside which are some steps leading to ‘The Old Printworks’, alluding to the industrial history of the area. I wonder what used to get printed here?
Talking of prints, this image goes right up to 30X20 inches (around A1 size) for maximum impact, but if you’d like to print out at A3, go for the 18X12 JPEG. See the previews above for both the overall image, then examples of zoomed-in detail.
