The Selfie - Lessons in Digital Literacy

The ‘selfie’ has become a modern phenomenon, with people risking their lives to get a better or more impressive one that gains more attention. In this lesson, students explore the history of the selfie and share their views and reflections on its significance in their own lives. They are encouraged to think more critically about information they encounter, and they create and deliver a presentation to show the outcome of their learning.

Aims:

• To encourage students to question information and formulate their own views.
• To develop students’ ability to create and deliver a presentation.
