“Shadows Outside Hele Mill”
I often pass along this road from Hele to Bradninch. As the evening draws in, the sun sets over the fields to the left of the trees. As it does, fantastic shadows are cast by the fence all along Strathculm Road, which runs past Devon Valley Mill in Hele. The glimpse of the field is a teaser to the fantastic views at this time of day, to the West and across the shallow valley.
The eye is led to a gate onto the farmland, shown in the 100% detail preview of the 30x20 image. While shut, there is escape for the gaze; round the corner onwards to Bradninch via Hele Road, or following the fence to the left up towards Hele Payne Farm. The contrasting light suited black and white carefully, a different take on a familiar scene around Bradninch.
