GUACAMAI GORJABLAU II 2025082317037RT1PUB
Sorry to repeat the topic, this bird stole my heart.
Its appearance is very similar to that of the blue macaw, with a very similar distribution of coloration in the plumage, although it is distinguished from it by the presence of a blue spot on the throat that gives it its name. Its distribution area is extremely restricted, since it only occupies the region of Los Llanos de Moxos, in the north and east of Bolivia. It lives in savannas and flooded forests of tropical climate, generally between 200 and 300 meters in altitude. This species, one of the most threatened in the psittacidae family, is critically endangered due to deforestation and capture for the illegal pet trade. Its future is not very promising, since of the 1,000 or 1,200 specimens that were counted at the beginning of the eighties, today only about 150 remain, which represents an exceptionally worrying population decline. It is currently in critical danger of extinction.
Therefore, having the opportunity to take a photograph like this is a real privilege for me
